“Practice the art of allowing others to be exactly who and how they are, while keeping your focus on who and how you are, and who you are becoming.” William DeFoore

We live in a society where most of us work hard on achieving the circumstances to BE happy. The belief that we must constantly be ‘doing’ is perhaps why many find themselves burnt out and even when they do seek to recharge, they are riddled with guilt that they should be doing something else instead. I know this because I’ve been that person and it was exhausting. The irony is that we do all these things so that one day in the future, we can have the freedom to relax and be happy!

What it really takes is learning how to be happy FIRST. We must first be, before doing. When we understand that the key to manifesting our desires isn’t 100% doing all the time, we can relax in the now, tap into the state of our child-like wonder and innocence and allow for support to come in whatever form it shows up.

3 keys to personal freedom:
1. Let go of control and trust that you are being supported
2. Replace negative thoughts with positive affirmations
3. Learn to be comfortable in the discomfort

It isn’t always easy to stay in the discomfort of allowing. Our mind may get scared and start storytelling; maybe things are going well and you think it’s too good to be true. Or maybe you start to think that you’re not truly worthy of your dreams. Many of us unintentionally self-sabotage, believing that it’s just not possible for good things to happen to us.

Freedom is listening to and allowing your heart to lead the way. By staying in your heart you will find happiness in the experience of living every moment with love, grace and gratitude for whatever comes your way.

What does allowing mean to you? When it comes to your goals and dreams, how much time do you spend doing versus simply allowing?
